I grew up in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and now live in Brooklyn, NY.  
 
I first entered the fashion industry through an internship at India’s largest garment manufacturer, where I worked on their social responsibility projects. Seeing the realities of mass production up close, I decided to try out different fields, from innovation consulting to modeling. I then spent five years in the sustainability world, helping clients like Patagonia and Carhartt achieve B Corp Certification. In the process, I learned what makes companies truly impactful.

Across these different experiences, I always found myself drawn to that place where great design meets an even better story. This quest led me to host events in forums as far apart as NYFW and COP30 in the Amazon. It's made me produce and star in campaigns, and develop products for my own and clients' brands.

 

Ultimately, it got me to embrace the title of designer.

   
In 2025, I started JCVD as a way to take control of my story. To not only create beautiful things, but to do so with care for production, materials, and the narrative that brings it all together.
