JCVD sou eu: João Campos do Vale Dourado.

I grew up in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and moved to the U.S. in 2017 to study International Relations. Although I never became a diplomat, I now like to think of myself as the Brazilian Ambassador to Brooklyn.

Over the past eight years, I’ve touched fashion from all its angles, but always with a focus on cultural exchange. I first entered the industry by working with corporate social responsibility at India’s largest garment manufacturer, and later went on to work as an innovation consultant and as a model. I’ve spent the last 4 years leading B Corp Certification for multinationals in North America, helping clients like Patagonia and Carhartt manage their impact.

Ultimately, I work to promote and connect the people doing it right. I’ve hosted events in major gatherings including NYFW, NY Climate Week, COP 30 and Art Basel Miami Beach, and currently serve as the Director of Global Partnerships for WAMA, a nonprofit that supports bioeconomy projects in the Amazon.

JCVD is an expression of my experiences, skills, and point of view. I know that my background pulls from many different threads — Impact Director is the only description I've found that ties it all together. My services blend creative and commercial strategy, and my vision relies on creating real connections: between brands and communities, between traditional crafts and new markets, between Brazil and the world.
